Terribly cold today -with temperatures at their lowest since January 2011. I had some bread to feed the birds, so bundled up and ventured outside. I walked along the perimeter of the drain field and came across these magnificent ice crystals – an outgrowth of last week’s 4 inches of rain and the cold which has descended upon us. I ran into the house and grabbed my camera to capture these beautiful ice crystals – about 3 to 5 inches tall. A reminder that there is beauty in things great and small!

beautiful photos; it’s been frigid here as well but the high winds have abated…for the time being.
