Woo-Hoo!!! We’re starting to see the grass sprouting up from the mud and clay that has been our yard ever since we moved into the house in late November. At that time, it was too late to consider putting down grass seed, and we’ve been waiting through a very wet spring to have an opportunity to get the seed put down.
Finally, last week was the perfect time and we spread grass seed over much of the cleared area that composes the yard. I purchased enough flower seeds to cover 4,800 sq. ft. of the drainfield area and we’re starting to see the microscopic seedlings pop up there as well.
We will have a fun adventure for the rest of the spring and early summer picking up rocks and other pre-construction debris caused by clearing the 2+ acres for the house and yard. And then, of course, comes the mowing aspect of having a successful grass seeding adventure!! LOL….
Am so happy that the grass is coming up so nicely as it will add to the attraction of our farm when people come for the cooking and baking classes that I’ll start offering this summer.
